June 3rd was Isaac’s first camping experience, when we joined cousins Chris and Leanne and Hank and friends Derek and Meriah at Bon Echo. We hadn’t been there before and weren’t really sure what we getting into with the walk-in campsites. The campsites were beautiful, and not too far of a hike from the car yet the spring bugs still found us on our trek. We came prepared with bug nets and luckily Chris and Leanne had brought a play pen for a bug free Zone for the kids which worked great.
Unfortunately a raccoon found our tent while we were at the other campsite, but duct tape came to the rescue and we still had a good night around the campfire. Isaac slept well, but was wide awake early and the bugs were out full force that early in the morning.
We had a short stay anyway, so we packed back up after a swim and headed home.
Glad you had a bug free zone for the kids…..I would have happily been with them if I could have fit in too. Bugs love me ..it’s not reipricol., Great pics , both the people and the scenery.
