Brought snow instead of flowers!
We were shocked to see how much snow was still on the ground at the cottage during our first visit this year. But it was still a beautiful day and Isaac loved helping fix things. He doesn’t remember the cottage, so exploring was like it was new again. Since our trip to Dominican, Isaac has been looking forward to going to the beach again – but the ground was still frozen until recently.
This month has been spent with several trips to the Museum of Science and Technology and to the Experimental Farm, swimming, and toy library playgroup. And trips to the doctor. Isaac is still a little guy – not quite 10th percentile for weight and only 50th percentile for height. Luckily, the tests have shown that he is healthy, and the lack of weight gain is due to diet…meaning he just doesn’t eat enough – not for lack of trying! We think he burns more calories than he consumes daily – since he is always on the move.
At swimming, Isaac is starting to get the hang of floating around with his floaty on, and absolutely loves jumping into the pool! Isaac runs everywhere instead of walking, and loves “vrooming” with his trucks and cars around the circle in the basement. But still his favourite thing is “fixing”.
Isaac seems to be advancing well with his speech and understanding consequences – and tries hard to explain situations to us, and recount events. His daycare workers have commented on his sense of humour, his memory skills, and his vocabulary. He will soon be moving up to the Toddler 2 room, and enjoys spending time there whenever he can.
Isaac also spent his first weekend with Grandma and Papa, while Jon and Lindy went sailing in Finger Lakes NY. Everyone had a good time and Isaac kept his grandparents busy! Lindy and Jon enjoyed getting away, camping and sailing in the J24 regatta. Thank you!
