Merry Christmas 2018

Happy New Year!

We had a fun holiday this year – with lots of family and neighbourhood parties. Isaac’s favourite part was the “treats”. That kid loves chocolate – wonder where he gets that… Oma and Opa came to stay for a week, and we had visits with cousin Arlo from Vancouver (and Shawn and Andrea) and a fun family gathering. We enjoyed a couple meals with the Clark family too. It was fun to have all the grandparents over for Christmas morning too. We had a few neighbourhood parties around Christmas too, and then also an early New Year’s countdown together. Great to have fun people so nearby! Zac was in town again briefly so we were happy to squeeze in a dinner with friends too – kids and all – making it a slightly less focused catch-up but always a good time. It’s only going to get crazier…

We all had a bad cold for a few weeks, and some car troubles that complicated our month, however we still decided to make the trip to Lindy’s cousin’s wedding in Hamilton on the 29th. Our new mini van made the trip slightly more bearable with a DVD player for Isaac to watch, and lots of leg room for Lindy to stretch out. We made a couple stops each way, to let Isaac out and run around an indoor playground. Now he thinks he gets to go to a gym everyday… we also spent lots of time in the hotel pool, which luckily opened at 6am! Beautiful wedding, and a chance to see Lindy’s Oma and extended family. Isaac loved chasing the older kids around the reception and managed to stay up until Lindy’s bedtime haha.

The doctor and midwife say things are going “stellar” with the babies, and there’s no reason to expect anything out of the norm for their delivery. Only a month left before possible induction – unless Lindy’s tummy pops before then! (There’s already 8lbs+ of baby in there). Isaac seems to be getting ready for company too, and responds to Lindy’s offer to feel her tummy with “there are 5 babies in my tummy, feel them move!” along with a tummy jiggle. He also asks to hug them, or if he can take them out yet. We’ve asked what he’s going to teach the babies, and he says “how to play, how to sleep” but apparently he doesn’t know how to make them stop crying. At one point he mentioned that the babies in his tummy weren’t there anymore because they got a time out for crying too much. I guess he’s realistic about the situation too! He’s been extra cuddly/clingy lately, getting in extra attention while he can. Isaac’s prediction from the start has been that he’s going to have a brother and a sister, but lately he’s mentioned 2 sisters…we might know by this time next month!
