Trips to Lake George and Toronto

We’re a bit exhausted now, but our back to back trips to Lake George and Toronto went really well.

September finally brought summer weather, so we enjoyed a few more sunny days at the cottage, an afternoon at Britannia beach, and many trips to the parks and splash pads. We had a visit from Oma and Opa, and celebrated the Clark September birthdays with a dinner at the Mandarin buffet – where Isaac spent the evening looking at the fish.

Isaac is constantly talking and continually adds more words to his vocabulary, stringing some together and starting to really make sense. He knows a few colours and numbers. His climbing skills are bringing on new challenges, but make trips to the park more interesting. Did I mention that we go to the park? ALL THE TIME. Luckily there are a few to choose from nearby…and we managed to find some to stop at on our travels.

Toronto trip included a stay at Uncle Jason and Emily’s condo downtown Toronto (with a park close by), a trip to High Park zoo (open at 7am YAY, and a fantastic playground), a short visit with Super Oma, cousins Dan & Cy’s wedding, brunch with the Otterspoor extended family, another couple trips to the park and a stop on the way home. We were lucky to have Jason and Emily babysit Isaac during the wedding so that both Jon and Lindy could participate in the whole event, and we closed down the place! With little sleep, we made it home the next day.

Next we went to Lake George for a 3 day J24 sailing regatta. Again we were extremely lucky to have our good sailing friend Debbie along for the ride so that we could both be out on the water. Isaac and Debbie had a blast – playing in the parks! (go figure). Lake George is a beautiful old club, and our accommodations were in the Capri village a short walk away. There was very little wind two of the three sailing days, but it was blowing hard on the Saturday, and raining so we got fully soaked and cold. A super fun weekend, resulting in a 3rd place out of 26 boats – so we were happy! We even beat the pro sailor in two races, and getting the team’s first regatta bullet! While Isaac didn’t sleep well at night, and we were running on very little sleep, we still had a great time with a great sailing team. Thanks again to Debbie!

Happy to be home for a little while now…
