September 2018 ended with a twist…as in a tornado came within blocks of our neighbourhood and destroyed many houses and trees around Isaac’s daycare. Luckily, we were only left without power for a few days. We didn’t get out camping this summer, so we camped out in the dark at our house, BBQing pizza and chicken fingers for dinners by candlelight. Thanks to Sam and Jeremy for storing our cow in their freezer!
We are still adjusting to the whirlwind of the idea of twins…trying to make decisions and getting ready. Isaac was a big help putting together two cribs, and moving furniture to make space for the babies.Anything to fix with Daddy! He also has discovered many new things to climb, and has become even more of a monkey lately. We are planning to build a jungle gym in the basement to help keep him busy this winter. He’s taking gymnastics again, so he’s practicing his moves between classes. Isaac’s siblings are starting to kick up a storm in Lindy’s tummy too!
Isaac’s favourite games now include hide and seek, hockey, baseball, Hungry Hungry Hippo, and taking apart our adult board games. He’s full of energy until way too late at night – so now we all go to bed around the same time and hope that he waits for the sun to get up in the morning. Daycare is going well, and Isaac got to go on his first field trip to a conservation area on a school bus! Isaac talks non-stop, and keeps us laughing…”Yes I do”, “I like lettuce, finger lettuce, soup lettuce and salad lettuce”, “Daddy lets me…”, “Mommy do you like this story?”, “You’re frustrated…”, “I want to go to Arlo’s house”.
Jon’s been working hard helping a friend start a permanent holiday lighting business, and Lindy got away for a girls weekend at a friend’s cottage. We had a great visit with Opa and Oma who came to help close up the cottage (Zavier and Dakota too!) which made it possible to accomplish in one day with Lindy trying to keep Isaac out of the water. Thanksgiving was full of great food, and family gatherings, and a special visit from Zac from New York. Both sets of Grandparents are off travelling this fall, so Isaac will miss them all – but we’re happy everyone will be around this winter. 🙂
Now we see how long Lindy will manage to stay at work…already twice as big for 5 months pregnant and feeling the effects of an extra baby tagging along for the ride.

Another great update……he sure isn’t afraid to get dirty…….MUD!
